Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Kleer Ledger ("we," "us," or "our") is a personal finance labeling tool. We help you add custom titles and labels to your bank transactions so they're easier to recognize — without changing your bank's official records. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what data we collect, what we do not collect, and how your information is handled.

Bank Login Credentials

Kleer Ledger does not store your bank username, password, or any banking login credentials. Bank connections are established through Plaid, a secure financial data provider. Plaid handles all credential entry and authentication directly between you and your bank. Kleer Ledger only receives a limited-access token from Plaid — it never sees or stores your login details.

You can disconnect your bank connection at any time from within the app, which immediately revokes Kleer Ledger's ability to fetch new transaction data.

Credit Card Information

Kleer Ledger does not collect, store, or process credit card numbers, CVV codes, expiration dates, or any sensitive payment card credentials.

The Smart Card feature in Kleer Ledger is a personal reward-tracking tool only. You manually enter a card's nickname (e.g., "Amex Gold") and the reward categories you've configured on that card (e.g., "4x points on Dining"). No actual card data is involved. Kleer Ledger does not connect to your card issuer or process any card transactions.

Transaction Data

When you connect your bank via Plaid, Kleer Ledger retrieves your transaction history (merchant names, amounts, and dates) to help you label and organize your financial activity. Here is exactly how that data is used:

  • •Your original bank transaction descriptions are displayed as-is and are never modified.
  • •You can add a personal custom title, category tag, or note to any transaction.
  • •These custom labels are stored separately from your bank's official records.
  • •Transaction data is used only to operate the Kleer Ledger service for you.
  • •We do not sell your transaction data to advertisers or third parties.

We Never Modify Your Bank Records

Kleer Ledger is a read-only labeling layer on top of your financial data. We do not initiate transactions, move money, modify your bank statements, or alter any official records held by your financial institution. The bank's original description always remains the authoritative record for statements, audits, and compliance purposes.

Subscription Billing

Subscription billing for Kleer Ledger is handled by Stripe, a leading payment processor. When you subscribe, your payment details are entered directly into Stripe's secure forms. Kleer Ledger does not store your payment card number, CVV, or billing details — only a Stripe subscription reference is retained to manage your account status.

Organization and Admin Features

Kleer Ledger supports organization accounts where multiple members can share access. In an organization context:

  • •Organization administrators may be able to view labeled transaction records that members have added within that shared organization, depending on the permissions configured.
  • •Organization-level data is scoped strictly to that organization and is not visible to users outside of it.
  • •If you are using Kleer Ledger as part of an organization, please be aware that your custom labels and notes within that org may be visible to org admins.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used only to:

  • •Operate and deliver the Kleer Ledger service to you.
  • •Display and organize your transactions within the app.
  • •Power features like custom labeling, Smart Card reward tracking, and usage history.
  • •Improve the performance, reliability, and usability of the app.
  • •Authenticate your account and protect against unauthorized access.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal financial data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties beyond what is strictly necessary to operate the service (e.g., Plaid for bank access, Stripe for billing).

Account Deletion and Data Removal

Users may permanently delete their account and all associated data directly within the Kleer Ledger application. You have full control over your data. To delete your account, navigate to Settings → Account → Delete Account inside the app, or visit this link when logged in. When your account is deleted:

  • •Your custom labels, notes, and personal data stored by Kleer Ledger are permanently removed.
  • •Your bank connection token is revoked and Plaid access is permanently disconnected so Kleer Ledger can no longer fetch new data.
  • •Transaction labels, income stream preferences, Smart Card configurations, and reward history are deleted.
  • •Your user profile, membership records, and stored preferences are removed.
  • •Some records may be temporarily retained for a limited period for fraud prevention, legal compliance, or security purposes as permitted by applicable law. These are not used to operate your account and are securely purged thereafter.
  • •You may also contact us at privacy@kleerledger.com to request manual data deletion.

Third-Party Services

Kleer Ledger uses the following third-party services to operate:

  • •Plaid — Secure bank connection and transaction data retrieval. Plaid operates under its own Privacy Policy.
  • •Stripe — Subscription billing and payment processing. Stripe operates under its own Privacy Policy.

We do not integrate with any advertising networks or data monetization services.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made. Continued use of Kleer Ledger after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
